How to Get the Most From Les Deux Alpes On Your Ski Holiday

Les Deux Alpes is amongst the biggest and oldest ski resorts in Europe and has the longest on-piste vertical in the word, making it a must-go for ski lovers. The resort lies in the French Alps, around 3 hours ski transfer from Geneva airport.

From thrilling snow sports to fun party towns, you’ll have no problem finding exciting things to do here.

Skiing and Snowboarding

With guaranteed snow coverage throughout the season, along with high altitudes, Les Deux Alpes is a great resort for all skiing abilities. For beginners or intermediate skiers are the wide blue pistes at the peak of the mountains, offering spectacular views and gentle slopes. For more advanced skiers, the black runs in the Freestyle Land snow park are a great choice, offering different themed sections for different levels, snowboarding and freestyle skiing.

Family Fun

In 2009, Les Deux Alpes was awarded the Famille Plus label for its commitment to catering for families and children, and rightly so as the resort offers a whole range of family-friendly events and learning opportunities. The resort offers childcare facilities for children aged 6 months to 12 years, children’s entertainment, a range of ski schools and fun experiences for the whole family.

Winter Sports and Activities

Les Deux Alps has a whole host of other snow activities to try. Activities on offer include snowmobile riding, an airbag park, electro biking, paragliding, tobogganing and dog-sledding – you’ll never run out of things to do.

A note-worthy mention from this list is the airbag park which offers a unique and adrenaline-filled experience. Enjoy jumping onto an enormous soft airbag mattress from various heights and in the safe hands of professionals, and at the affordable price of 3 euros for 1 jump or 10 euros for 5 jumps, it’s a must!

Another notable activity is husky dog sledding. You can experience mushing your own group of friendly huskies whilst admiring the stunning unspoilt landscape, and on full moon evenings you can enjoy delicious food at a slope-side mountain restaurant.

Cultural and Historical Experiences

A ski holiday isn’t just about skiing! If you want to see all that Les Deux Alpes has to offer, then these cultural experiences can’t be missed.

Visit the magical ice caves at the top of the Jandi Express for a look at stunning ice sculptures in a network of caves, including eight grottos, three rooms and a gallery, all completely enclosed in ice!

The Chasal Lento museum is great for those who enjoy a glimpse into the past. This art and tradition museum offers a peak into the lives of locals throughout history, from Roman times up to current ski lift construction. And with free entry, what’s not to love?

Après Ski, Bars and Nightlife

Sometimes the best part of a ski holiday isn’t even skiing! For those who love to party, Les Deux Alpes is the perfect place, known for its vibrant après ski and nightlife.

One of the most popular après ski destinations is Pano Bar, located opposite the Jandri Express station. With dancers and saxophonists between 3pm and 5pm and DJs in the evening you’ll be thoroughly entertained, along with their famous festival-like closing party in April.

Another fun-filled après ski location is the Avalanche Nightclub, filled with amazing DJs, huge parties and a fun atmosphere. This nightclub has been running for over 20 years so you can be sure they know how to party!

If you want to get the most out of your trip to Les Deux Alpes, then get stuck in and see everything the resort has to offer! Whether you love skiing, partying or cultural experiences, there’s something for everyone.
